New Features in PSRCHIVE 10.2

Minor Features Added:

  • psrstat: when looping over one or more array indeces, each line of output is prefixed with the filename and loop indeces
  • psredit: provides access to calibrator extension data
  • psrsh: can bscrunch to an arbitrary number of phase bins
  • psrsh: a simple receiver name log file can be used to correct the relevant header parameters

Bugs Fixed:

  • python: psrchive.i is now included in the distributed tar file
  • pat: matrix template matching now works beyond the first file
  • pcm: the correct receiver name is output to the result in mode B

New Features in PSRCHIVE 10.1

Rotation Measure Estimation: rmfit now implements the rotation measure estimation technique presented in Noustos, Johnston, Kramer & Karastergiou (2008 MNRAS 386, 1881). Big thanks to Aris Noustos for the code.

Pulsar Searching: Mike Keith has added code to pdmp that outputs the XML files understood by the pulsar hunter package. Matthew Bailes has also added some optimization features to this program.

Bugs Fixed and Minor Feature Additions:

  • pcm no longer ignores the -s option
  • psredit can change PSRFITS header parameters such as STT_SMJD
  • pac -S will integrate the pcm solution down to pulsar nchan

New Features in PSRCHIVE 10.0

Mostly bug fixes.

Bugs Fixed:

  • pac: CAL weights not flagged in PSR output when -S is used
  • ASPFITS -> PSRFITS -> failure during time integration
  • pac: incorrect flux scale when cal nchan != psr nchan
  • PSRFITS DYN_LEVT: bad float to string conversion
  • psradd: fails on BPP files
  • pac -S: fails if pcm.fits has more channels than observation
  • paz: zapping sub-integrations causes segfault
  • psradd creates huge files
  • psradd: overwrites the last archive
  • psradd doesn't use the existing order of files in a metafile
  • pat fails
  • pav plot bug
  • paz zaps different amounts off each end of bandwidth
  • pdv: wrong S/N
